Capital Campaign

More than 60 years ago, the Manatee Players was a traveling band of artists and volunteers working with meager budgets.

Today, the Manatee Players has evolved into a nationally recognized and awarded theatre, changing and enriching lives regionally through the art and education of live entertainment.

The Manatee Performing Arts Center will be a state-of-the-art, one of a kind facility for the State of Florida...for professionals and non-professionals alike. Plans exceed ADA requirements. Every facet of the theatre will be handicapped accessible, including: the stage, catwalks, light and sound control booth, and orchestra pit. This added value to the community will allow the Manatee Players to engage all theatre supporters, without obstructions due to physical limitations.

Theater Interior

The Performing Arts Center is more than a venue for entertainment. The educational wing of the theatre located on the second floor is design for both traditional classroom instruction and performance based classes.

The facility is a key anchor for the downtown cultural arts district and directly impacts the downtown business community. Building Plans for the facility have embraced the need for more community meeting rooms, concert rental center, and banquet facilities equipped with a catering kitchen.

Theater Interior

In the past three years we have averaged over 36,000 in attendance at our little theatre house downtown and have entertained outside of our walls over 3,000. The Board of Directors of The Manatee Players is dedicated to embracing the values of Manatee County that create such a unique place to work, live and raise a family.

During this campaign, the active participation of our patrons and all those who enjoy and benefit from the theatre is essential. Your participation in the maintaining and enhancing of the more than 60 year tradition of your community theater will be immeasurable. There has never been a more important time to get directly involved. Each and every gift makes a difference. The excellence which the Manatee Players strives for everyday depends on the continuing generosity of those supporters who love the performing arts and understand that their contributions have an impact, on the quality of life in this community.

Gifts to the campaign may be cash, securities, planned gifts or pledges or a combination of these. Contributions to the campaign are needed, to complete the Manatee Performing Arts Center.

Please contact Janene Witham, Executive Director or Denny Miller, Marketing Manager at our Development & Marketing Office: 941-749-1111 to learn how you can become a part of building a piece of history, that our entire community can enjoy and appreciate.
